Using Computers

Using the computers

Here are some tips for using computers safely:

  • Make sure your chair is adjusted to support your back.  All our computer chairs are adjustable - if you need some help adjusting your chair - please ask.
  • Make sure you are sitting high enough for your eyes to be just above the height of the monitor screen.  If this lifts your feet off the floor we can provide you with a footrest -please ask
  • Make sure your arms are at right angles to your body when using the keyboard. If your wrists hurt when using the keyboard or mouse, we can provide you with a wrist rest.   If your fingers ache after using the keyboard we can provide you with an ergonomic keyboard - please ask
  • Make sure the screen resolution is large enough for you to read the text.  We can help you adjust this - please ask
  • Make sure you take regular breaks.  There are tea and coffee facilities available in the rest room upstairs.
