Fire evacuation procedure

In the case of a fire:

  • On discovering a fire please raise the alarm and if it is safe to do so inform a member of staff. On hearing the fire alarm please evacuate the building via the front door.
  • If necessary the fire brigade will be contacted by a member of staff. Staff will tackle small fires using the appropriate fire appliances and where there is no risk to themselves.
  • Do not stop to gather your belongings.
  • Please walk calmly to the exit; please be careful on the stairs. Gather at the fire evacuation point which is located across the road, opposite the building.
  • The manager / fire officer(s) will check each room to ensure everyone has evacuated.
  • Please wait at the fire evacuation point until the fire officer / manager / Fire Brigade confirms you can leave.
  • Do not re-enter the building until the fire officer / manager / Fire Brigade confirms it is safe to do so.
