Financial Support

Financial support for the cost of your courses may be available if you are:
 
Claiming income based benefits (see list below)
  • Unwaged dependant (defined by Jobcentre plus) of someone claiming income based benefits.
  • Aged 16-18
  • Studying your first full level 2 qualification (NVQs)
  • Aged 19-25 and studying your first full level 3 qualification or those studying a full level 3 qualification (without having a full level 2 qualification) (we do not offer these yet but will be coming soon)
  • An offender (serving your sentence in the community)
  • Undertaking a Skills for Life course (literacy or maths)
Asylum seekers in receipt of income based benefits and their dependants (please discuss with a member of staff as further rules apply)

Income Based Benefits

Income based benefits which are eligible for this support are:
  • Jobseekers allowance (income based)
  • Jobseekers allowance (contribution-based)
  • Housing benefit
  • Council tax benefit
  • Income support
  • Working tax credit (with household income of less than £15050)
  • Pension Credits (guarantee credit only)
  • Income related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
We will need to see evidence that you are currently claiming benefit, example of evidence include:
  • Bank statement showing payment of benefit
  • Letter from appropriate authority which issues the benefit

If you are an unwaged dependant of someone who is claiming any of the above benefits will need to see evidence from Jobcentre Plus that they consider you in this category.

If you continue your learning with us for more than six months we will ask you to provide evidence that you are still claiming benefit.
